Finally I Get to Have Some Fun!

Thursday I went to Dennis the Menace Park in Monterey with my buddy Zachary! It's the same park Daddy used to play at when he was little - although some things have changed over the years. There was so much to see and do there. A full sized train engine to climb on. A climbing wall that I was too young to climb but made for a great place to hide and play "peek-a-boo". Maybe Auntie Audrey Clare will come and give me some pointers when I get a bit older. Then there were all different types of slides. And the suspension bridge that reminded Mommy of the one at Disneyland on Tom Sawyer's Island. Then there was the maze - I really liked playing with the bushes and looking at Zachary through the fence. I spent some time watching the skate boarders at the skate park. Mommy suggested that Uncle Joe would be better at helping teach me to board - Mommy never did get the hang of skateboarding. I even had a great time playing with the dew that covered the park benches. I hope that we go back very soon. And if anyone (that includes kids of all ages!) comes to Monterey I highly recommend a visit to Dennis the Menace park :)

Baby Levi Gets All the Fun

So last weekend Mommy went to San Francisco for a veterinary conference. It was the first time Mommy and I had been apart overnight! I stayed at home with Daddy who watched me with some help from Grandma, Grandpa, and Leticia. (Leticia watches me most Mondays and also babysits on those rare occasions when Mommy and Daddy go out without me). So when Mommy came home I was a little miffed to find out that the gay pride parade happened while she was in San Francisco. The parade occurred just around the corner from the hotel she was at. It sure looked like baby Levi had a good time at the parade he attended with Mindy and Melissa. Mommy tried to explain to me that she only got to watch for a short while during the lunch break but I tried to explain to her that I was sure Daddy would have taken me to the whole thing. Oh well, maybe next year!

Cats, Cars, and Crackers

Car. Car. Car. Cat. Cat. Cat. Cracker. Cracker. Cracker. I seem to be stuck on "C" words lately. So if anything happens to have wheels it is a car. And if you have four legs then you are a cat. And those objects that I can hold and feed myself are crackers. For a little variety I do dabble in the "d" words - mainly "dada" for all things that walk on two legs, and "dat" for pretty much everything else in the world. I did say "mama" a few weeks ago and Mommy got all misty eyed on me and squeezed me so tight that I have yet to say it again! Ya'll be sure to remind her about that when I get older and she says that classic Mom line "If I hear you call me one more time......"

ps Mommy and Daddy's camera is broken so it may be awhile before I can post more pictures :(

Paso Robles Pictures

Here's a few pictures from my trip to Paso Robles. Mommy is very happy that I'm finally letting other people hold me more often :) Now maybe we can get some more pictures of me with someone other than Mommy and Daddy!

Wrong Side of the Crib

Today I woke up from my morning nap very cranky. Nothing Mommy did or said seemed to make it better. Mommy was just convinced that I was teething and hungry. So she finally sat me down in the kitchen surrounded by various sippy cups filled with various liquid refreshments and stuck a popsicle in my hand. Eventually I decided that the popsicle was a good idea. And then I noticed that Mommy was eating leftover Chinese food so I tried that too. By the end of my strange lunch I was covered in sticky popsicle juice and chinese fried rice! Thank goodness the dogs are always willing to help clean up. I feel sorry for those poor mommies who don't have dogs to help clean up after us babies!

Busy Busy Busy

Sorry I haven't posted recently, but I've been a very busy boy. Here's a picture of me and my friend Zachary at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We had a great time - especially splashing in the water. Then a few days later Mommy and Daddy and I spent the day at the beach to celebrate Mommy's birthday. It was a glorious day - sunny and warm - I even splashed in the cold water a bit! The next day we saw our friend Oliver play in his first violin concert - too bad Mommy forgot to take the camera :( It was kinda hard to sit still through that concert but the music was nice, and there were lots of other kids to play with afterwards. Then a few nights later we went to dinner at Karla and Marvin's house. Our friends Dolores and Allan were there too. I spent a lot of time pushing the stroller through the house as you can see. It's fun to catch up with good friends! Then Daddy and I spent the day together at the aquarium while Mommy worked (do you think Mommy and Daddy want me to be a marine biologist???). I guess Daddy wanted to spend some special time with me because then a few days later Mommy and I went to Paso Robles to visit Grandma Susan, Grandpa Mike, and Uncle Joe. They all took me to a park where I had lots of fun and then I went swimming in the little pool Grandma bought me. I really like Grandma and Grandpa's house but I have a hard time going to sleep there. Mommy and I were sure tired by the time we came home a few days later. Then there was playing in the park with Zachary, a temple service, and Father's Day lunch with Grandpa Will and Karen. Wow - I feel the need to take a nap just reading what I've done these last two weeks.

Walking!

Yup! You read correctly. I am now walking!!!! Wednesday I started standing occasionally on my own. And then tonight I just started walking. Not those typical first baby steps either. Grandma guessed right - she figured that I would just wait to walk until I could walk really really well. Daddy had just finished giving me a bath but I still had too much energy to think about going to bed. Mommy was in the kitchen doing the dishes. Daddy was holding my hand as we were walking towards Mommy and then he let go and I just kept on walking! And then I was doing laps around the house. Now I'm taller than the cats - that will make chasing them that much more fun :). Well Mommy and Daddy took lots of video of course. Mommy is going to try and put a link below so that you can see some of it too.
