Clipper and Sadie

Another one of my favorite activities is to walk next door to our neighbor Mary's house and feed her two miniature horses. Kim and Al our other neighbors are nice enough to let us walk across their yard so we can get close to the horse pen (isn't it pleasant to have nice neighbors?). Clipper and Sadie have gotten used to our little visits and come eagerly to the fence for their carrot treats. When Mommy asks me if I want to go visit Clippy and Sadie I run to the fridge so that we can get the carrots out of the fridge. As we're feeding the horses I make little "horsie" noises. Once the carrots are gone Sadie is out of there. But Clipper hangs out hoping for more and sometimes we pull up some green weedy grass to feed him as well. The hard part is that after awhile Mommy wants to go home and play in our front yard so we can spend some time with Shasta and Hana, but I just want to stay and watch the horsies!

Making Progress!

Additional Adventures of Noah

Well I'm sure you must be wondering what else I've been up to since it's been awhile since I've blogged. Mommy took me to Bonfante again on the 12th. I think it is more fun when Mommy and Daddy are there, but Daddy was gone the entire week for work. We went on some other rides such as the cars and a boat ride. And once again I loved that playground. On the way home we stopped for cherries from the stands they have in Gilroy - yum! And I bet you just think of garlic when you hear of Gilroy.

Other than that I have been busy mastering my new walking skills. I still love to hang out with my dogs and cats but Mommy has been unable to get a good picture as I don't stay still for very long (she often asks me if I have ants in my pants). I am still trying to get this "gentle" petting thing down - luckily Hana is a very patient dog! I also think that bouncing up and down on the dog bed is pretty fun.

And then of course with this hot weather I have spent a lot of time playing with the hose and hanging out outside. The temp was up in the 80's/90's here and since we don't have air conditioning it gets pretty hot inside the house. But in the shade of an oak tree it is actually quite pleasant. And when I get tired I like to climb in a friendly lap to have a few books read to me. Mommy finally got brave enough to take me to the library so that we have a few more car books to read as I am very into cars right now (and after about the 20th reading of "Pull the Bulldozer" Mommy feels the need to hide the book from me!). I also got a whole bunch of new books from Uncle Erik and Aunt Laura - so far "The Little Engine that Could" is my favorite.

Bonfante Gardens

For Fourth of July Mommy and Daddy took me to Bonfante Gardens in Gilroy. Bonfante bills itself as a family friendly theme park and it did seem that every family there had a young 'un in a stroller. We went on lots of rides such as the carousel (two of them), the Strawberry dip, the train, and the worm. But my favorite part by far was the playground. The slides there are "sticky" so you can climb up them easily (I learned that quickly from the bigger kids). Surprisingly I wasn't too interested in the water play - just a bit too overwhelming for a little guy like me. Well, we had such a good time Mommy upgraded her ticket so that we can come back a few times more this summer. And then when we got home Mommy and Daddy had a BBQ for dinner and it was actually nice enough to eat outside! I know that sounds kind of odd to most folks, but around here the fourth of July is often overcast and kinda cool so we appreciated some decent weather for once!

Walking again!

I can sometimes be a silly baby. Like the time I walked all over the house a month ago and Mommy and Daddy got excited and started video taping like mad (see the previous post). Well, you know what, after trying it out I decided that walking really wasn't all that. So I went back to crawling for another month. Mommy would occasionally watch the video to convince herself that she didn't just dream that I had walked! But at 17 months I finally decided that it was time to give up crawling and get around on just my two legs. Mommy thinks I look pretty proud of myself in this picture. And before she knows it I'll be running all over the place and then the real fun will begin :)
