Growing

On Valentine's Day Mommy and Daddy thought it would be nice to take a picture of me in the green chair in my nursery. If you can remember back a year ago - that was where they took a picture of me that ended up on my birth announcement. Well, what a difference a year makes! Mommy couldn't get me to sit still, so she enlisted Daddy's help, and even then I almost fell on my head! They just don't realize that I have lots to do - toy bins to empty, kitties to pet, cheerios to eat - the list goes on and on!

Auntie T

I'm such a lucky boy! Auntie Tomoko came to visit me this week. We played Frisbee with the dogs. And then I let her play with my castle. As you can see - I guess I'm not the only one sticking out my tongue these days! I even let Auntie T feed me dinner (which I kindly shared with her). I wish she could have stayed longer but she told me not to worry - she'll be back in a few days to visit again! Yay!

Silly

After those two very serious looking pictures in my last two posts I thought I would show you how silly I can be. For some reason lately I've been sticking out my tongue quite a bit. Although this time maybe it was because I had sweet potatoes smeared all over my face!

Winter Again

After that brief warm spell the weather got cold again (well, cold by California standards). Here's a picture of me all bundled up before going out for a stroll with Mommy and Daddy. I'm not too thrilled by this hat business. But they tell me I better get used to wearing one since we are going to Yosemite (wherever that is) next month.

Ringo Star Here I Come!

Watch out Ringo Star - here I come! Grandma and Grandpa got me this great musical instrument set for my birthday and I've been drumming ever since. Uncle Joe says that when I get a bit older he'll buy me a "real" drum set. I bet Mommy and Daddy will be real thrilled with that!

New Trick

Between eating more solids and practicing with the sippy cup I've spent a lot of time in my high chair this week. And then it dawned on me! I can throw the food over the side of the high chair and the puppy dogs will come and eat the food. Of course it is better to do it with a dramatic flair because then Mommy can't help but start to laugh. Of course the puppy dogs don't care how I get the food to the floor. Now maybe Shasta will forgive me for repeatedly trying to run her over with my Fisher Price car (Mommy and Daddy say that I remind them of a demolition car driver, whatever that is).

Sippy Cups and Straws Are For Drinking???

This has been an eventful week. I've been cruising around on two legs a lot more (although I still crawl around a lot as I can move a lot faster that way). And then at my one year checkup Dr. L was talking to Mommy and Daddy about less bottles, more solids and eventually no more bottles (gasp!). So this week Mommy has been trying to encourage me to drink from sippy cups. Now I like sippy cups like the next guy - but come on - we all know that they are really made so that we babies can throw them around all over the place. Why work hard to get liquid from a cup when you can guzzle from a bottle? I'm no dummy! As the various types of sippy cups have started to accumulate on the counter I heard Mommy muttering something about me being as stubborn as she is! Well one thing I do like is straws. Do you know that you can blow lots of bubbles in the milk and make them start to spill out of the cup? WHAT? Straws are for drinking???? Hmmmmm, we'll have to see about that one!

Summer in February!

Well, the weather here has been great this last week. Mommy decided that it was time to introduce me to something new - walking barefoot in the grass! With the help of my walker, I am now able to get around on my own on two feet! The sun was shining, the sky was a deep blue, and there was a warm breeze in the air - what more could a one year old ask for on a February afternoon? Oh yeah, there were my trusty sidekicks Shasta and Hana who also enjoyed the good weather and my frisbee throwing skills (with some help from Mom). Hopefully this weather will hold for awhile!

Noah's First Birthday Party

Wow! A baby only gets to turn one once so Mommy and Daddy decided to throw me a birthday party! There were balloons and Winnie the Pooh decorations and lots of good food. Well, actually I didn't get to eat any of the food except for the very best ones - cake and ice cream! I can't understand why Mommy and Daddy have been feeding me all this boring applesauce and carrots when I could have been dining on cake instead. It was a little nerve wracking having everyone staring at me as I ate but it was soooooo good that I got over it. And then there were presents to open. As you can see I was pretty tired out by all the excitement, so I snuggled with Uncle Joe and Cousin Ben on the couch. Thanks everyone for making my first birthday party a great one. Can I have some more cake please?

More Kitties!

As I've already mentioned, I really really like petting kitties. Here is a picture of me and Daddy petting PJ, our big orange cat. I heard Mommy say that he is a big fatso but I think he is just right!

Crazy Hair

Do you think it's time for a haircut? Mommy and Daddy gave me a little trim around the ears a few weeks ago but geez it's getting a bit long on top! Daddy seems a bit doubtful that I can sit still long enough to let anyone do it. And Mommy says she is definitely not the one to try - although she is good at many things, hair is not one of them (come on Mom - where is your sense of adventure?). Until then Mommy and Daddy will just have to keep combing all that hair and try and keep it under control. Hey I know no matter what they do to my hair everyone thinks I'm a good looking babe!

My Favorite Kitty

Well, being the lucky boy that I am, I received lots of great gifts this holiday season. But my favorite toy so far is definitely this kitty puppet that Aunt Diane and Uncle Jay gave me. Just like my real kitties it goes "meowmeow". And when I get tired and rest my head on my kitty I can even make it go "meowmeow" all by myself! Mom and Dad even figured out that I will go to sleep much easier if they let me take it to bed with me. It's much easier to be brave when you have a dependable kitty by your side! I sure hope they let me bring kitty to my next checkup with Dr. L next week....
